How THETA Accesses Data

THETA uses a combination of AI training data and live financial data APIs to generate reports. The AI model (Claude by Anthropic) provides the analytical framework and general knowledge, while live financial data is fetched from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) at the time of report generation to provide current figures.

Training Data Sources

Source Type Examples Notes
Regulatory filings SEC 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements US-listed companies primarily
Earnings materials Transcripts, press releases, presentations As publicly reported
Financial news Major financial publications Not real-time
Industry research Publicly available industry reports Coverage varies
Academic sources Finance and economics research Peer-reviewed where applicable

What This Means in Practice

  1. Data freshness: The model's knowledge has a training cutoff date. It does not know about events, earnings, or price movements that occurred after its training data was compiled.
  2. No live prices: Stock prices, market caps, and financial ratios cited in reports are approximations based on training data, not real-time quotes.
  3. Coverage bias: The model has more training data for large, widely covered companies than for smaller or less-followed equities.
  4. Financial data API: Live financial data (stock quotes, financial statements, analyst estimates) is fetched from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) at report generation time. THETA does not access Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, or S&P Capital IQ.

Accuracy and Verification

  • We do not independently verify each financial data point in generated reports
  • Numbers in reports should be treated as approximate
  • Users should verify any specific data points against primary sources (e.g., SEC EDGAR, company investor relations pages)
  • If you notice an error, please report it to miskiewicz.ventures@gmail.com
